HUG Hug Chair

The “Hug Chair,” which won the Gold Leaf Award at the International Furniture Design Competition Asahikawa [IFDA] 2024, is, as its name suggests, a chair that sits like a hugger. The form of the chair, which attracts everyone's attention at first glance, is the work of Chinese designer Xu Yuhao. He says, "I designed the chair to warmly welcome people of all shapes and postures as a means of creating a more intimate relationship between wooden furniture and people. Kandi House felt that the newness and strength of the chair could be “transmitted to the world,” and reproduced this extremely organic form in elm wood from Hokkaido. With a soft-to-the-touch oil finish, the chair envelops the occupant with a comfort that is unmatched by any other chair. Just one chair in a commercial facility, public space, hall, or office will instantly transform the place into a mysterious and unique space.
